I'm having a little hit record right now. Well at least at radio, time will tell whether this song will really translate into sales. But at radio right now, as I write this, "
Love & Paragraphs", my 5th solo album is at #2 with a bullet on the
Radio & Records national contemporary jazz chart and #7 at Billboard. I am particularly chuffed (as we say in the UK) because as you might know, I started my own independent record label "Ultimate Vibe Recordings" (and no we are not looking to sign artists right now!) and to have some success whilst competing with major labels and established labels is quite an encouraging thing.
Cerwin-Vega announces the release of a bass management guide for performers entitled: “Understanding Bass Management in PA Systems: A Guide for Performers”.
Randy Faustino is as seasoned a veteran as you will find in the music industry. He toured the country for 17 years with such acts as Frank Sinatra, Jeffrey Osborne and Tower Of Power before “settling down” to work stints at Osborne’s studio, Wings West, and later at Echo Recording. With the help of J. Mark King, Faustino then turned his decades of experience at getting the right sound quickly and with a minimum of fuss to the demanding world of television sound. He has worked on a huge number of shows, including the Academy of Country Music Awards, the Golden Globe Awards, Jimmy Kimmel Live and many, many others. In 2007, he formed Creative Sound Solutions with Gerald “Butch” McKarge and J. Mark King to provide high-caliber music mixing services for the television industry. The company has since mixed American Idol, one of the most consistently high-rated programs in television history, and a host of Idol-inspired shows, including The Next Great American Band, Rock Star, and, most recently, MTV’s new show, Rock The Cradle!
This long awaited sophomore release, “The Return of Eve” from Devil Doll, is about to top it's anthematic, best-selling predecessor, “The Queen Of Pain”. Fans will be relieved to find that they can still count on Devil Doll to deliver them sexy tales of heartbreak and lost love, such as "Tortured," as well as many new tales of upbeat, dirty, love-makin' ballads, like "Things You Make Me Do."
Mix the heavier sides of the Beatles and Wilco, but add a crushing rhythm section and you get something close to Dreaming Isabelle's gritty melodies. The band's raw stage energy has helped the young rock quartet win over audiences from Charlottesville to DC and New York City.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of a love affair between bassists and the most influential bass combo amplifier in history – the SWR® Redhead. The original Redhead, introduced in 1988, revolutionized bass guitar amplification by combining SWR’s crystal-clear full-range tube preamp with a robust solid-state power platform into a rock solid, yet easily portable 2 X 10 cabinet. Loaded with two state-of-the-art 10” speakers and a high frequency horn, the Redhead sounded simply phenomenal and offered unprecedented patching options designed to meet the standards of discerning bassists, whether playing live or in the studio. Twenty years later, its features are far more than just relevant – they remain industry standards.
A long time ago, the Supremes reminded audiences that, "You Can't Hurry Love." Artists such as Simon and Garfunkel ("Slow down, you move too fast") and Tom Petty ("The waiting is the hardest part") have cautioned listeners and stakeholders that when "the goods" are rushed, mistakes can be made. The wisdom contained in these musical messages is as old as time. But in modern society, people generally want something new yesterday. No one could be feeling the pressures of public demand for creative output more than Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon.
